This study provides the first PRISMA-guided, longitudinal review of 241 GIS-based transportation planning studies from 2004–2024, revealing trends toward sustainability, equity, and advanced technologies while highlighting persistent challenges and offering guidance for inclusive, data-driven mobility strategies.
